Heavy Metals Adsorption

superparamagnetic iron (II,III) oxide nanoparticles for heavy metals wastewater treatment

Wion Technology offers solution for purification of a wastewater contaminated by heavy metals.

Below is a short view on our possibilities:

1. LIST OF HEAVY METALS

Heavy metals adsorbion is dependent on a coating of a nanoparticle and reaction condition. Here we give example to heavy metals that can be adsorbed on a surface of our nanoparticles.

  • Arsenic As
  • Chromium Cr
  • Copper Cu
  • Lead Pb
  • Cadmium Cd
  • Nickel Ni
  • Mercury Hg
  • Cobalt Co
  • Zinc Zn

2. COATING VS ION ADSORPTION

Wion Technology offers the production of iron oxide nanoadsorbents according to a sorption purpose. The functionalization of the iron oxide surface is conditioned by confirmed scientific premises or previous research results.  Free samples are available.

3. SIMPLE PLANT CONFIGURATION

Nanoadsorbents do not need complex piping and instruments. Main parts of such wastewater plant are mixing reactor and magnetic columns, which Wion Technology designed for this purpose. Below is an example.

4. PLANT PARAMETERS

There are several benefits of using nanoparticles with a magnetic core. Among all methods, we present oppurtinity to lower concentration of heavy metal ions present in wastewater even in trace amounts.

  • No strong acidic or alkaline solutions needed

  • Adsorption capacity: 40 – 200 mg/gFe3O4

  • No additional contamination of wastewater

  • Works on small concentrations of heavy metals: 1 – 6 mg/L

  • Magnetic column capacity: up to 100 g of Fe3O4

  • Possibility of nanoparticles recirculation

  • Iron oxide (II,III) is safe and non-toxic for the environment

  • Small energy input
