How did it start?
Wion Technology was established as a result of a technology development for the production of iron oxide (II, III) nanoparticles for professional applications.
It is a production company entirely based on Polish financial capital with a contribution of domestic know-how. The company’s vision is to introduce an ingredient that is used in specific industries, mainly as a black and magnetic pigment.
Why did it start?
The development by Wion Technology of its own iron oxide production technology allowed the market to use the potential of nanoparticles on an industrial scale.
So far, nanotechnology has been reserved exclusively for niche products due to the enormous cost of production as the particle size decreases. Our technology allows us to obtain nanoparticles at a low cost to the extent that they become competitive with microparticles, which do not have such unique properties.
Organization
The founder and CEO of the company is Mr. Maciej Wajsprych with a PhD in engineering and technical sciences, specializing in chemical engineering. Mr. Maciej is passionate about the practical application of chemistry in industry and a promoter of empiricism. The technology of producing nanoparticles is his original idea and the result of many trials and studies on this issue. In addition, he brought to the company knowledge in the field of membrane processes due to his many years of work in this field. His engineering thesis, master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation concerned the use of membrane processes in solving contemporary problems of water recovery from contaminated sources (natural and industrial). Defending his doctoral thesis at the age of 26 at the Wrocław University of Technology, he began his further adventure as a chief technologist in the production of fire-retardant paints, gaining experience in managing a research team and rescaling processes for tonnage production.
