IONSOL 1W

Solution of uncoated iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4) in demineralized water for research purposes. The particles exhibit superparamagnetic properties. At the customer’s request, the particles can be encapsulated with any active substance:

  • citric acid,
  • oleic acid,
  • ethylenediamine,
  • DMSO,
  • PVP,
  • EDTA,
  • TEOS,
  • PEG400,
  • Tween,
  • agarose.

Iron oxide (II, III)  nanoparticles coated with an encapsulating substance have recently become an innovative research material for scientific units. This is indicated by the number of publications – over 1,800 articles in 2020 (data from www.pubmed.gov).

Iron oxide (II, III) nanoparticles coated with a selected polymer are able to absorb heavy metals on its surface such as: Ni2 +, Pb2 +, Cu2 +, Hg2 +, Cd2 +, Co2 +. See the “Markets” section.

Iron oxide (II, III) containing more than 70% iron in its structure is used as a reaction catalyst in many industrial processes: ammonia production by Haber process, CO oxidation, oxygen-evolution reaction (OER).

Due to its superparamagnetic properties, iron oxide (II, IIII) nanoparticles are used as a contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging.

Magnetic beads for protein purification. Possibility of using special coatings eg. agarose.
